BHEL wins Rs 2,080 cr contract in Syria
New Delhi, Jun 30: Making its maiden entry in the Syrian power sector, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a Rs 2,080 crore contract for a 400 MW thermal power plant in the West Asian country.
The order for the Tishreen Thermal Power Plant Extension (2x200 MW) is expected to be completed in 33 months, a BHEL spokesman told UNI today. It entails design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of equipment.Placed on BHEL by Public Establishment of Electricity for Generation and Transmission (PEEGT), Ministry of Electricity, Syria.
it is the highest-value single order secured by the company in overseas markets, the spokesman said.
