70 kg poppy straw seized in Kashmir, 3 smugglers arrested
Srinagar Jun 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three smugglers and recovered 70 kg of banned poppy straw in south Kashmir, official sources said today.
They said police conducted a raid at village Malhoora, Zainpora, in south Kashmir district of Pulwama after receiving a tip off that some smugglers were active in the area.
During the raid, police recovered 70 kg of poppy straw and arrested three smugglers.
Police and excise department has destroyed banned crops over thousands of kanals of land in Pulwama and Anantnag during the past three months.
