Special allowance for doctors working in remote areas in C'garh
Raipur, June 29 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh Government has decided to provide special allowance and leave facilities to doctors posted in remote areas of the state.
''The government has come up with a special scheme known as the Chhattisgarh Rural Special Medical Corps. Under this scheme, facilities such as allowances, insurance cover and leave facilities would be provided to doctors,'' Health Secretary R S Vishwakarma said yesterday.
The amount for allowances would be decided in accordance with remoteness of the area. A provision would be made for providing more allowance in more remote areas.
He said the district collectors had been directed to identify virtually inaccessible areas where transport, education and medical facilities are not available.
Besides, virtually inaccessible hilly areas surrounded by forests in naxal-affected areas where tribal population is more should be categorised, Mr Vishwakarma added.
