Rayomand, Rajaram win Formula Rolon, twin delight for Saran

Chennai, June 29 (UNI) Despite inclement weather with cloudy and windy conditions, veteran racers and champion youngsters came up with spectacular efforts in the second round of the J K Tyre National Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.

From saloon cars to Super Bikes to Formula racing cars, it was a blend of exhilarating speed and excellent driving skills with the cream of Indian racers exhibiting tremendous potential and talent.

In Formula LGB Swift, pole leader and Former Champion, 18-year- old Saran Vikram, was in good form as he raced away to a register a comfortable win in Race one.

After dominating initially in the second, Saran wore down a spirited challenge from Karthik Shankar of Rams Racing before winning the thriller to complete a golden double. Rayomand Banajee finished third.

In the Formula Rolon Chevrolet, the premium event, C Rajaram of Prime Racing emerged a surprise winner. This, incidentally, being his maiden win.

Starting fourth on the grid, Rajaram made the best of his experience and driving skills to notch up an emphatic win. Saran Vikram and Saahil Shelar of Team Speed NK Racing finished second and third.

In the second, Rayomand Banajee of Team Meco Racing and Saahil Shelar were neck and neck before the former took the chequered flag, a fraction ahead of Saahil. Steve Hodges of Team Amaron Meco Racing finished third.

In the Super Bikes 600 CC class, the number of laps in which had been reduced to six instead of ten, Bangalore's Praveen Keerthi won by big margin of 36 seconds in the first race and also continued his ascendancy winning the second race also.
