Chennai, Jun 29 (UNI) India's Anaka Alankamony scripted a golden day for India by winning the Girls Under-15 title in the Asian Junior Squash championships at Busan in South Korea today.
According to a message from national coach Cyrus Poncha, it was a commendable performance by the Indian girl, as she trailed 1-6 in the first two games, before winning 9-6, 9-6, 9-5 in straight games in the final against Ha Ka Po of Hong Kong to win her eighth international title.
Down 1-6 in the first two games, Anaka hit some brilliant hard drives and delicate drops. Anaka was made to move to all corners by Ho Ka Po, but she prevailed in the third game after leading 5-1 to win the title.
Other Indians also came up with sterling performance with Mahesh Mangaonkar bagging the silver in boy's Under-15. He lost to top seeded Nasir Iqbal of Pakistan 4-9, 4-9, 3-9, while Deepak Pallikal, seeded second, lost to top seed Malaysia's Low Wee Wern 1-9, 6-9, 0-9 in the Under -19 final and settled for silver.

Boys under-15: Abhishek Pradhan (6th), Vivek Dinodia (17th).
Girls under-19: Anwesha Reddy (8th), Harita Omprakash (13th).
Boys under-19: Vikram Malhotra (3rd), Ravi Dixit (7th), Paramit Singh (11th) and Karan Malik (15th).
