CLP refutes charges by Goud
Hyderabad, Jun 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party(CLP) today refuted the charge of the former leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) T.Devender Goud that the Congress was responsible for the Backwardness of the Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here along with state Mines and Geology Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and Labour Minister G.Vinod, Roads and Building Minister T.Jeevan Reddy alleged that Mr Goud was trying to mislead the people of telangana through his false statements, only to strengthen his position after his resignation from the TDP.
He charged that Mr Goud did not talk about the backwardness of the Telangana and seperate statehood when he was in Telugu Desam, enjoying all positions for nearly two decades.
How can Mr Goud blame the Congress when he himself had admitted that Telangana was being neglected during the TDP regime itself, he asked.
Stating that the Congress government under the leadership of Chief Minsiter Dr.Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had taken special interest on the development of Telangana, he said the government had taken up several irrigation projects for supply of water for irrigation and drinking to remote areas in Telangana.
He claimed that with a view to develop the Telangana region in all fronts, the government had been giving more funds to it compared to other regions in the state and was trying to solve the problems of the people there.
