Amarnath yatra suspended from Jammu again
Jammu, Jun 29: One Sunday, June 29, authorities suspended Amarnath yatra again from its base camp at Bhagwati Nagar here following road blockages en route the cave shrine in South Kashmir. ''Pilgrims were not allowed to proceed from here as road from Chandanwari onwards has been blocked at many places due to landslides and bad weather,'' official spokesman said.
Earlier also the yatra was suspended from here to manage the heavy rush of pilgrims at various base camps in Kashmir. On June 20, Friday, the march from Jammu was suspended due to bad weather and heavy rains across Kashmir. The two-month-long pilgrimage for Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas commenced on June 17.
