A village woman loses way in forest
Madikeri, Jun 29 (UNI) A woman from a village in Madikeri district of Karnataka, who went into a nearby forest in search of her cows, lost her way while escaping from a herd of wild bisons, and spent two sleepless nights before being rescued by a labourer.
The woman M K Saraswathy (45), of Galibeedu village, went into into the forest on June 25. She panicked when she came across the wild bisons. But the fear-struck Saraswathy managed to give the slip to the bison, menacingly approaching her as her three pet dogs which also accompanied her into the forest, barked at the Bisons and staved them off.
Her ordeal was compounded as she lost her way and strayed deep into the forest. She had to spend two days and nights deep in the forest as her dogs, which saved her from the wild bisons, also went missing.
After wandering in the forest for two days and nights braving torrential rain, the woman was noticed by a labourer of Kovnad area.
Seeing her pathetic condition, he took her home.
Meanwhile,Saraswathy's husband Cariappa, who tried to lodge complaint with the police was treated rudely by them. The police refused to register a case and demanded from him his wife's photograph.
However, her ordeal came to an end atlast when he also helped her to contact her family members in Gaalibeedu village.
