4 killed as fractured ULFA triggers blast
Guwahati, Jun 29 (UNI) ULFA today triggered a blast at Kumarikata, adjacent to the Indo-Bangla boundary, killing four people on the spot and critically injuring six.
According to police, the incident took place at around 1400 hrs in a crowded weekly market. Forty others received minor injuries, twelve of them children.
Police suspect the blast to be the handiwork of the '709 Battalion' of the United Liberation Front of Asom.
The outfit is on a revenge trail following a government engineered split in their cadre base as a smaller section offered to cease fire.
ULFA responded with a bomb blast at Nagaon on Friday and today's blast.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot.
