Pathanamthitta, Jun 28 (UNI) Kerala Health Minister P K Sreemathy today said all vacancies in the health sector would be filled up in three to six months time.
Speaking to newspersons after attending various functions in the district here, she said there were 1,000 vacancies for doctors.
The tendency of new doctors to quit the post after joining would also be curbed strongly, she said.
In the health services 600 posts for doctors were vacant while in Medical colleges the number was 400, she added.
The state government has earmarked Rs 45.39 crore. The Taluk hospitals would be alloted Rs five lakh each, and Community Health centres and primary health centres Rs One lakh each.
Families under Below Poverty Line (BPL) category would be provided free Medical care, she said adding that hospital services in Pathanamthitta district would be improved before the next Sabarimala season.
