New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) Six Bajrang Dal activists were arrested today after they attacked police vehicles and government property while protesting the violence in Jammu and Kashmir against allotment of land to the Sri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

Police said the arrests were made for rioting and assaulting a public servant.

Earlier, the Dal activists gathered near Hotel Taj Mansingh at about 1100 hrs and marched towards the J K House on Prithviraj Road, where they pelted stones.

Later, after shouting slogans against the alleged communalisation of the land transfer to the SASB and burning effigies of J&K leaders, the protesting crowd damaged a police vehicle stationed there for security reasons.

Police resorted to water canon charging before arresting six of the rioters who were carrying tridents.
