Public has become aware of their democratic rights: Raman Singh
Raipur, June 28 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today said people have become aware of their democratic rights due to various schemes launched by the government for poor, farmers and villages in the past four-and-half years.
Dr Singh made the statement while addressing a public meeting on the first day of his sixth and last phase of 'Vikas Yatra' here today.
The government is providing two kg salt at 25 paise per kg to 32 lakh families and 35 kg rice at Rs three per kg to 34 lakh families.
On the occasion, he distributed 'tendupatta' bonus to concerned beneficiaries, tricycle to disabled beneficiaries and free bicycles to schoolgirls. He encouraged schoolchildren to sport a 'tilak' while studying.
He announced opening up of a college in Srinagar. Approval has been granted in the supplementary budget in this regard.
Home Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal and other people's representatives were present.
