Patil offers prayers at Mahakaleshwar temple
Ujjain, Jun 28 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today offered prayers at the Mahakaleshwar temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country, and also attended the residence warming function at her brother Ranjit Singh Patil's house here.
After arriving here by helicopter from Indore, Mrs Patil, at present on a four-day visit to Madhya Pradesh, drove straight to her brother's residence at Ravindra Nagar.
Later she reached the Mahakaleshwar temple and performed rituals. During her 45-minute stay in the temple, she was told about the ''Swarna Shikhar Yojana' for renovation of the temple.
From the temple, Mrs Patil reached the circuit house for a brief halt and later drove back to Indore.
The President is scheduled to arrive in the state capital tomorrow, where she will iaugurate the new building of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University and also Advanced Research Institute of the people's Group of Educational Institutions, besides launching the BJP government's 'Usha Kiran Yojana' for the victims of domestic violence.
On June 30, Mrs Patil will leave Bhopal for Gwalior where she will attend the golden jubilee function of Madhav Institute of Teachnology and Science. Later she will return to New Delhi.
