Multipurpose School thrash DMW in under-16 semis
Patiala, Jun 28 (UNI) The fancied DMW cricket coaching centre, Patiala, suffered a humiliating defeat against Multipurpose School coaching centre in the semi-final match of the First Multipurpose Cricket Challenge Cup (Under-16) at the Multipurpose Secondary School ground here today.
Multipurpose School (MS) won the toss and elected to bat first.
In 35 overs, MS rattled up 242 runs, losing seven wickets. Vinay Guraba (96) played a magnificent knock and missed the ton by a whisker. Siddhant Sharma (62), and Sompal (28) were the other main run getters.
For DMW, Sukhwinder bowled well to capture three wickets, conceding 50 runs. The other DMW bowlers looked pretty ordinary and failed to impress.
In reply, DMW were shot out for a measly 31 runs in 20 overs.
None of the DMW batsmen impressed. For MS, N Sharma took 4 for 12 and Sandeep captured 3 wickets, conceding 10 runs.
MS won the match by 211 runs and will play the final tomorrow against the winner of Black Elephant Cricket Club and Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy, Jammu.
