Shimla, Jun 28 (UNI) Shimla town has so far recorded 531.3 mm rain during the first 28 days of this month, recording the heaviest rainfall in the town during the month since 1970, the met office today said.
The town had so far recorded 531.3 mm rain in the town from June one to June 28, this year, as against 516.8 mm rain during the month in 1970, Shimla Meteorological Office Director Manmohan Singh told UNI here.
He said Dharamshala town had so far recorded the heaviest rainfall of 728.3 mm rain during the month, as against 635.8 mm rain recorded in 1966.
Meanwhile, heavy rains lashed Shimla town and its surrounding areas during the day and the met office said the state capital had recorded 89.3 mm rain during the day followed by 50.8 mm at Sunni, 11.4 mm at Solan, 62 mm at Amb and 43 mm at Una town.
The met office said Hamirpur town recorded 41 mm rain, 15.6 mm at Tissa, 124.4 mm at Dharamshala, 63 mm at Nurpur, 72 mm at Palampur, 54.4 mm at Mandi town, and 44.8 mm at Rampur.
It also forecast that several places in the state would experience more rains in the state during the next 24 hrs, while warning of heavy rains at a few places of the state.
