Former BJP dissidents to float a new party in September
Ahmedabad, Jun 28 (UNI) Former BJP dissident leaders Gordhan Zadafia and Sunil Oza said here today that they will float a new political party on September 25 to fight against the ''anti-poor policies'' of the state as well as the central governments.
At a conference of Jan Andolan Manch, an outfit floated by former BJP rebels, Mr Zadafia and Mr Oza said, ''The birthday of Sangh Parivar ideologue Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay falls on September 25, so we have decided to float the new party on this auspicious day.'' Jan Andolan Manch will hold programs, including demonstrations, to fight against the power tariff hike, VAT and escalating prices of essential commodities, they added.
These former dissident leaders of the BJP had revolted against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi last year and termed his style of functioning as ''fascist'', but were wiped out in the state Legislative Assembly elections, held in December 2007.
