Vadodara, Jun 28 (UNI) Passengers of the Jodhpur-Bangalore express had anxious moments today when bomb disposal squads conducted a thorough search of their baggages at Vadodara station following an anonymous phone call about explosives being planted on the train.
The call was declared a hoax after nearly 50 minutes search of all the compertments by police, RPF and security personnel of the bomb and sniffer dog squads.
Police and railways sources said at around 1500 hrs. Ahmedabad railway control received an anonymous call which claimed that a bomb had been planted on the train parked on platform number six.
Before the message could be conveyed to the driver and guard of the Jodhpur-Bangalore Express, it left the platform. Due to lack of required manpower and security personnel, the train was allowed to pass through Nadiad and Anand stations without any search operation.
As the train reached Vadodara station at 1650 hrs, a thorough search operation was conducted by the security personnel with sniffer dogs and it was allowed to proceed when it turn out to be a hoax.
