Agumbe records 14 cm rainfall

Bangalore, Jun 28 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Agumbe recorded very heavy rainfall of 14 cm.

Heavy Rainfall amounts (cm): Mani, Puttur, Bhagamandala 8 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Sulya, Kota, Siddapura, Gerusoppa, Honavar 6 each; Mangalore, Mulki, Belthangadi, Dharmasthala, Subramanya, Udupi, Karkala, Kundapur, Kumta, Tyagarthi Kammardi 5 each; Panambur, Bajpe, Bhatkal, Shirali, Ankola, Madikeri, Thirthahalli, Sringeri 4 each; Kadra, Siddapura, Banavasi, Virajpet, Madapura, Koppa 3 each.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka. Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Shimoga, Kodagu, Chikmagalur and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Fisheries warning: Strong on-shore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Light rain likely.
