Srinagar, Jun 28 (UNI) About 80 people, including some senior separatist leaders, were injured when police fired in the air and resorted to lathicharge to disperse thousands of demonstrators protesting against the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
Massive protests continued for the sixth day today in the Kashmir valley where two police stations were attacked and property damaged.
Official sources said police opened fire when demonstrators attacked two police stations at Alamgari Bazar and Zadibal in the down town city. Two people received bullet injuries in the firing.
One Imtiyaz Ahmad received bullet wounds when police opened fire at Chattabal in the Shahar-e-Khas to disperse demonstrators.
The injured were sent to hospital, where the condition of one of them is stated to be critical. Eight others were injured in police teargassing and lathicharge.
Reports of heavy clashes were also received from other parts of the valley.
