Sidhu stresses on need to tap trained people
Shillong, Jun 27 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor S S Sidhu today stressed the need for tapping the trained human resources and channelising them by public and private sectors in the better interest of the state.
Speaking at the ex-servicemen state rally at Assam Regimental Centre near here, the Governor said trained human resources needed to be tapped by engaging this experienced and disciplined human resource in various developmental activities for nation building.
'' Services of the ex-servicemen for disaster management, based on their practical experience in this field as well as in conservation and afforestation projects and several other security-related areas like counter-insurgency operations and protection of vital national projects can be extremely valuable, '' Dr Sidhu stated.
He informed that 42 ex-servicemen awere being re-employed for protection of railway and road construction in North Cachar hills of Assam, where underground forces create lot of problems.
