Chandigarh, Jun 27 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of United News of India (UNI) General Manager M K Laul at New Delhi this morning.
In a condolence message, Mr Badal said that Mr Laul was an outstanding journalist who performed his professional duties with utmost dedication, commitment and sincerity both on the editorial as well as reporting side.
He said the journalist fraternity had lost a gem in the death of Mr Laul and a vacuum thus created was difficult to be filled.
Mr Badal expressed his heartfelt sympathies with members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. He also prayed for strength and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, MP, also condoled the death of the Mr Laul and described him as a real journalist who worked tirelessly for the spread of ethical journalism.
Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also shared his condolences with the family of Mr Laul and described him a multi-faceted personality dedicated to the cause of high valued journalism.
Chief Minister's Media Advisor Harcharan Bains also mourned the death of Mr Laul. He said 'Mr Laul was a journalist to the core and a staunch supporter of the freedom of press, who sincerely propagated the ethics of journalism'.
Information and Public Relations Principal Secretary D S Jaspal and Director Tejveer Singh also mourned the sad demise of Mr Laul.
