Puducherry, Jun 27(UNI) Communist Party of India(CPI) national council member R Viswanathan MLA raised a previlege issue against Chief Secretary C S Ragesh Bihari today.
In a letter to Speaker R Radhakrishnan today, Mr Viswanathan said it was reported in a section of the press that the Chief Secretary at a recent review meeting under his Chairmanship had termed the cabinet as a 'congregation of thieves'.
On enquiry this was found to be true. This amounts to showering disgrace on the representatives of the people and the norms of democracy.
The Speaker, who is bound to protect the rights of members of the House should take this as a breach of previlege and a proper enquiry must be conducted. The union Home ministry should be pressurised to recall the Chief Secretary, he added.
