Mulayam warns Maya of dire consequences for jailing SP leaders
Lucknow, Jun 27 (UNI) Samajwadi Party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh cief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today warned the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party government of dire consequences for putting SP leaders behind bars and said the present senario is worse than the 1975 Emergency.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Yadav said in the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's regime, emergency was imposed in the country and about one lakh people were arrested, whereas, UP Chief Minister Mayawati had already put over one lakh SP leaders in Jail for political rivalry.
Charging the UP CM with framing his party leaders in fake cases under political vendetta, Mr Yadav warned Ms Mayawati and the officials, who were supporting her in the illegal act, to be ready to face the consequences.
Mr Yadav said both Ms Mayawati and her supporting team would go to jail after the fall of the BSP government, if they did not cease upon their activity of framing SP leaders in fake cases.
