Governor-Chief Minister discuss Kashmir situation, appeals for peace
Srinagar, Jun 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad today called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here.
In their one and a half hour meeting, they discussed the overall situation in the State.
The Chief Minister briefed the Governor about his assessment of various sensitive matters.
Both Mr Vohra and Mr Azad reiterated their appeal to maintain calm stressing that there was no issue which cannot be resolved amicably in a peaceful manner.
They also urged all political parties and organisations to help in restoring normalcy and paving the way for resolving all issues.
''Maintenance of peace is vital in the larger interests of the State. Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed spilling of blood of innocent people in the past two decades,'' the Governor said and hoped that the sagacious people of Kashmir and Jammu will not get misled by malicious propaganda or swayed by passions.
