Nashik, June 27 (UNI) Four accused in the murder of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activist Nilesh Garkal were today remanded to five days police custody.
The four -- Hemant Shetty, Kiran Sonawane, Gourav Govardhan and Bably Sable -- were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody.
Garkal lost his life yesterday after being attacked by some miscreants. Following his death, Garkal's supports had attacked the District Civil Hospital alleging that the doctors had shown negligence. Tension prevailed in some parts of the city till late last night following the incident.
The MNS had also given a ''bandh'' call which was, however, withdrawn after the four were arrested.
Meanwhile, nurses and staff at the District Civil Hospital resorted to a ''stop work'' agitation for some time today to protest against the attack on the hospital. The agitation was withdrawn after more security was provided at the hospital.
