DGP announces Parakaram Padak Medals

Srinagar, June 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda today sanctioned "Parakaram Padak Medals" to the police personnel of the state police in recognition of their extra-ordinary commitment while performing operational duties on anti-militancy in the state.

The awardees have recently sustained injuries during the encounter with militants at village Shopri Bagh, Chaterhama, Zakura on June 22nd.

The decision was taken at police establishment board meeting presided by the Director General of Police and held at Police Headquarter today.

During the meeting nomination of the cases were examined and decision about awardees was taken with due consideration and in light of norms framed by Ministry of Home Affairs.

The awardees include Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar, Sg. Ct. Sanjay Kumar and Constable Bilal Ahmad.

While announcing the medals Khoda expressed satisfaction over the performance of policemen in tackling the militancy on one hand and on other hand protecting lives and properties of the citizens of the state.

He recounted supreme sacrifices made by the jawans and officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Organisation during the turbulence.

He further desired that every policeman should seek to address the problems of the people besides generating sense of security amongst them. These objectives could be better achieved by strict discipline hard work and devotion to the duty, he observed.
