Cricket lovers set ablaze electricity offices
Chhatarpur, MP, June 27 (UNI) Irked over for being unable to watch the live telecast of Indo-Pakistan Cricket match due to power cut, a mob vandalised and arsoned the electricity offices at Naugaon and Harpalpur towns in this district, police said today.
The power failure took place at 2000 hrs and did not restore till 2200 hrs which irritated the match lovers. Hence, they reached the Naugaon electricity office committed the crime in which it was feared that all the records were charred last night.
They also tried to open the lock of other offices to burn them but police reached there and took control over the situation.
In Harpalpur town, people took out all the furniture and records from the electricity office and set fire on it.
Fire brigades doused the blaze, police added.
