Bureaucrats face tough time to leave secretariat because of protests
Srinagar, Jun 27 (UNI) Senior bureaucrats of Jammu and Kashmir had a tough time leaving the Civil Secretariat for their homes this afternoon because of processions in the civil lines against the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
Official sources said when the working hours were over, the bureaucrats were advised not to leave the secretariat because of the processions at Budshah Chowk, Moulana Azad road and Jehangir Chowk by senior police and civil officials.
However, after waiting for an hour, a signal was received that the bureaucrats could leave for their residence.
The sources said when the bureaucrats in their cars, reached on the fly over bridge, processionists were raising anti-government slogans at Jehangir chowk.
Later, all the vehicles were stopped at a distance and directed to return back to the secretariat. However, a number of bureaucrats instead continued their journey and left the area and were not harmed by the processionists, sources said.
