Vadodara, June 27 (UNI) The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) will host a limited over monsoon cricket tournament, the first of its kind in the state, from next month.
Speaking at a press conference last evening, BCA secretary Samarjitsinh Gaekwad said the schedule of the tournament, planned on the lines of the Kanga Cup cricket played in Mumbai, would be announced by the BCA tournament committee after its meeting next week.
He said the sole idea behind organising the event during monsoon was to keep the players busy and help improve their performance during the off season too.
About one dozen BCA-affiliated clubs, including IPCL, Alembic and GSFC, would take part in the tournament to be played on the weekends, Mr Gaekwad said.
