Mumbai, Jun 26 (UNI) A local court today remanded gangster Tarik Parveen, owing allegiance to Dawood Ibrahim, and two of his associates to police custody till June 30 for their alleged involvement in an attack on the driver of Gudu Pathan, a close relative of Karim Lala, a former underworld don.
Additional chief magistrate P R Deshmukh, while granting police custody to Parveen and his associates Haji Amin and Yunus Durani, adjourned hearing on their bail plea till the next date of remand.
According to prosecution case, Mohamed Zaman Hidayatullah, driver of Pathan was attacked by Parveen and his associates last night after they had hot exchanges over the issue of parking of a vehicle at Dongri.
The three accused were arrested by Dogri police under sections 307, 326 of IPC. They were produced before the local court at Mazgaon.
It may be recalled that Parveen was deported from Dubai. He was recently acquitted in the famous Sara Sahara Shopping Complex case, in which Dawood's brother Iqbal Kaskar was also one of the accused.
Police sources did not rule out a gang war in the city in the coming days between the Pathan and Dawood Ibrahim gangs.
Security has been beefed up in the sensitive Dongri area of South Mumbai, the sources added.
