NAPC bags mining projects in Thailand
Chennai, Jun 26 (UNI) The National Asphalt Products and Construction Company (NAPC) has bagged two prestigious iron ore mining projects in Thailand.
The projects would be executed on a 50:50 Joint Venture with a contract value of 110 million US Dollars for a lease period of ten years.
This would be the first overseas mining project for NAPC, its Director Varun Manian told reporters here today.
The mines were located at Wang Pong and Pa Tong in 5,000 acres and 2,000 acres respectively and would offer job opportunities to over 1,000 people, besides providing offshore working experience to 80 NPAC engineers.
About four million tonnes of iron ore would be mined at Pa Tong, which would be exported to China. The revenues would be shared by the JV. The capacity of mining in Wang Pong was being explored.
He said the NAPC has also signed a manganese ore mine at Laos in Cambodia.
