Kalyani Suryavanshi tops Nashik Division

Nashik, Jun 26 (UNI) Kalyani Suryavanshi, student of Kamalabai Kanya High School Dhule, topped the Nashik Division with 95.23 per cent marks in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, held in March 2008, result declared today.

The highlight of the result is that all the first three toppers are girls. Dhanshree Patil from Rashtriya Kanya Shala in Chalisgaon of Jalgaon district stood second with 95.07 per cent marks whereas, Shubangi Mahajan from Smt H G Shroff High School of Nandurbar stood third with 94.76 per cent.

The overall passing per cent of Nashik Division is 88.07 per cent. The result of Nashik district is 86.26 per cent.

The results (in percentage) of other districts in the division are as following: Dhule -- 92.34 Jalgaon -- 87.38 Nandurbar -- 91.65 Among Backward Class students, Pooja Parmar from Joseph High School in Suyog Colony of Jalgaon, topped with 94.26 per cent marks.

Tankiral Hussain Nurul Hasan from JAT Night High School in Malegaon of Nashik district stood first in the category. Among the physically-handicapped, Shweta Patel from Madhyamik Vidyamandir in Ekahre of Nashik topped with 89.69 per cent marks.

Except the night school category, all other categories have been dominated by girls in this overall result.
