Nainital, Jun 26 (UNI) CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya today lashed out at the UPA on the twin issues of the Indo-US nuclear deal and rising prices and warned the issues were reasons enough to consider withdrawal of support to the Government.
On the second day of the CPI(ML) Central Committee meeting being held here, the CC said the CPI-CPI (M) had no excuse now for continuing support to the UPA Government.
'' The nuclear deal has several humiliating clauses that are shameful for an independent nation like India. Those who say that the nuclear deal will solve India's power problems are simply fooling the people'', Mr Bhattacharya said.
'' If we sign the deal, we will be signing away out right as an independent nation to have a foreign policy and diplomatic relations of our choice'', he added.
He said it was a shame that India voted against Iran at the IAEA thereby punishing Iran for ''exercising the same right over nuclear technology as India has already during the Pokhran blast''.
During the meet, members also discussed plans to start an intensive campaign against inflation which they said, was proving to be a heavy burden for the common man.
