Bilwa Upadhey of Ahilayabai High School tops Pune division

Pune, Jun 26 (UNI) Bilwa Deepak Upadhey from Ahilayabai Girls High School topped Pune division scoring 96 per cent in the results of tenth standard examination of the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (MSSHSEB) held in March 2008.

Bilwa was followed by Mayuri Jayant Kulkarni from her school and Abhijeet Gijaba Kalbhor of PES Modern High School Yamuna Nagar Nigdi, both with 95.84 per cent.

The overall pass percentage in the division was 87.89 per cent.

Chairperson MSSHESSB Vijay Shiela Sardesai told reporter that Pune division including Solapur and Ahmednagar had performed well.

Total 2,15,313 students from the old and new syllabus registered for the examination of whom 2,14,842 students appeared and 1,88,833 passed the exam.
