Agri universities courses to be restructured
Hisar, Jun 26 (UNI) Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has constituted a committe for restructuring the course curricula of the post-graduate and doctoral degree programmes in all State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) of India.
Haryana Agricultural University vice-chancellor JC Katyal who is also the chairman of the committee said that the ICAR in August last year had constituted a National Core Group (NCG) of experts for restructuring masters and doctoral course curricula under his chairmanship.
He said that the main purpose of the National Core Group is to address the emerging issues concerning high agricultural education, particularly the quality and relevance in the context of globalisation of economy.
He said that the final report to this effect shall be submitted shortly to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for implementation in all State Agricultural Universities of the country.
"With the implementation of new curricula at the post-graduate and doctoral degree level in all SAUs, there would be uniformity not only in the contents of the course curricula but also equal uniformity in hours of teaching and nomenclature of the courses," Mr Katyal said.
