UP Govt comes up with contractual services formula for doctors
Lucknow, Jun 25 (UNI) Coming out with an innovative way to deal with the doctors of the medical colleges and medical universities, Uttar Pradesh government today suggested a new contractual services formula for the medicos preferring private practice but, without any administrative post.
The government has also hiked the Pay Scale of the teacher-doctors in the university and medical colleges with immediate effect, besides approving the new salary structure and contractual services formula for the doctors doing private practice in the state cabinet here.
According to the new formula, doctors, who want to continue their private practice, can opt for long contractual service on a fixed Pay Scale, but would not hold any administrative posts.
However, their payscale would be decided on the basis of their seniority and efficiency.
On the other hand, the doctors of the Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Medical University would be entitled to same payscale as that of the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), while the doctors of the seven medical colleges would receive the payscale recommended by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
However, officials maintained that the hike in the salary would be hefty, including that of the university professors, who would get a raise of Rs 20,000 per month.
