Mayawati politicising bureaucracy by rampant transfers: Cong
Lucknow, Jun 25 (UNI) Expressing concern over the politicisation of the bureaucracy by the Mayawati government, the Uttar Pradesh Congress today charged the state government with indulging in corrupt practices and failing on all fronts from price control to law and order situation.
Addressing a meeting of the frontal organisations of the party here in connection with the preparation for the Lok Sabha polls, UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi called on the workers to fight the ''corrupt practices'' of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in the state.
''It was unfortunate that the present state government, through its rampant transfers, was trying to politicise the police and civil administration,'' she alleged.
Ms Joshi also charged the state government of ignoring the original Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficieries in the state and giving patronage to criminals.
Asking the heads of the frontal organisations of the party to be more sincere towards strengthening the party base, she said training for the Lok Sabha elections, constitutency wise, would start very soon.
Presidents and chairpersons of almost all the frontal organisations, including Mahila Congress, Sevadal, Youth Congress and others, were present in the meet.
