Light Rain hits Delhi again, high humidity causes sultry conditions
New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) Light rains hit Delhi for the second consecutive day today leaving in its wake sultry weather conditions brought about by a sharp rise in humidity levels.
The city was hit by overnight rains, indicating a period of increased rainfall activity in the coming days.
Though the showers brought down the minimum temperature in the morning from 26.8 Degree Celsius yesterday, to 25.6 Degree C, they were followed by a sharp rise in humidity to 93 per cent.
A reappearance of the sun in the sky towards afternoon, coupled with high humidity levels, led to a rise in maximum temperature, from 33.2 degree yesterday, to 34.8 degree.
While 11.1 mm of rainfall was recorded till 0830 hours, 1.6 mm of rain was recorded between 0830 hours and 1730 hours.
Infact, the capital could witness more spells of rainfall in coming days with the weatherman forecasting an increase in rainfall activity in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India towards the weekend.
''Numerical Weather Prediction models suggest increase in rainfall activity along the west coast and northwest India after 48 hours,''the Met office said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi in the next 24 hours with posibility of rain and thundershowers in a few areas.
