HP and Raj Govt to hold meeting on July 7 on Pong Dam issues
Shimla, Jun 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan Governments will hold ministerial level discussions in Shimla on July 7 to discuss the long pending demands of Pong Dam oustees.
Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Gulab Singh Thakur said that delegations from both the governments including revenue ministers, principal secretary (revenue), top officials involved in the rehabilitation of the Pong Dam oustees and representatives of the Pong Dam oustees and other government agencies associated with the Pong Dam issues, will discuss the various issues related to rehabilitaion of the Pong Dam oustees.
Mr Thakur expressed hope that this discussion would help both the governments to find amicable solution to this problem which is pending for the last four decades.
He said the delegations will later meet Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and apprise him about the decisions taken in the high level meeting.
He said that Himachal Government is committed for full settlement of the oustees and will make every effort for arriving at mutually acceptable solutions to all the parties involved in this issue.
