Imphal, Jun 25 (UNI) The Manipur government today beefed up security especially in Imphal West and Imphal East areas following the killing of four non-Manipuri migrant workers yesterday by unknown armed miscreants.
Police said two bullet-ridden bodies were found yesterday at the foothills of Natumching in Imphal East district.
In another incident at Heinoubok, Imphal West district, two migrant workers were found shot dead late yesterday.
Besides, two other persons, injured in the firing by the unknown miscreants, were now recovering at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
Police and IRB personnel had been posted in all strategic places and combing operations were launched. However, no one involved in the incident was apprehended so far, police said.
On March 17 and 18, 15 migrant workers were killed by unknown armed persons.
Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh discussed the situation late yesterday following the killings.
