Force India kicks off British Grand Prix preparations

By Staff

Silverstone, UK, Jun 25 (UNI) Force India's preparations for the British Grand Prix got off to a satisfactory start during the first day of a three-day test at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit here.

Tonio Liuzzi was on driving duties at the 5.141km track yesterday as the team tested a major aerodynamic upgrade for the VJM01.

The Italian completed 108 laps with a best of 1:22.250.

''Today was a long day with a lot of laps as fortunately the weather stayed dry and we could get some consistent running. The guys did a really good job and the car was very reliable. As a result it was a good day of testing,'' Liuzzi said after completing his round.

''The new parts we ran gave a positive impact on the car and Giancarlo and Adrian will have some more bits to test for the rest of the test,'' he added. ''We covered a lot of miles and did some quick laps and the balance of the car felt better. The new package is working well so far and hopefully in the next two days we will improve the speed as well.'' Giancarlo Fisichella will continue with the testing tomorrow, with further updates scheduled to be tested over the course of the day.

Force India will hope for a good result at the British Grand Prix which is scheduled to take place from July 4-6 after a disappointing performance at the French Grand Prix last week.
