New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) The Congress today said CPI (M) Politbreau member M K Pandhe's comments on 'Muslim vote' was an attempt to communalise a national issue such as the Indo-US nuclear deal.
''We would definitely term it unfortunate and regret any attempt to communalise a national issue like the nuclear deal,'' Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told mediapersons.
She said CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat had already stated that Mr Pandhe's comments were not the views of the party.
On Monday, Mr Pandhe had said in a statement that the Samajwadi Party might lose Muslim support if it went with the Government on the nuclear deal.
