CJM send DIOS murder accused in police remand

Jaunpur, Jun 25 (UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today sent Anjini Srivastava, a prime accused in District Inspector of School (DIOS) murder case, in five-day police remand.

On May 28, DIOS Dinesh Chandra Pandey was shot dead at his work place.

A named FIR was lodged against Raja Sri Krishan Dutt college teacher Anjini Srivastava, BJP leader Sri Prakash Singh and power department employee Jitendra Prajapati.

Police had arrested and sent to jail the BJP leader and the government employee about 20 days back.

Uttar Pradesh Special task force of police was investigating the case and had put all efforts to nail the accussed Anjini, who was at large since the time of offence.

On June 21, as a result of pressure mounted by STF, Anjini surrendered in CJM R K Singh's court, who then sent him in judicial custody till July 4.

Meanwhile, police submitted an application requesting the court to send Anjini in police remand for further interrogation to which the CJM Mr Singh gave a nod today.

Police superintendent Chandra Prakash gave this information saying the accused has been taken in custody to bring out further information regarding the murder and weapon used in it.

Later, city kotwali inspector in-charge Yogendra Prasad Shukla took Anjini in custody.
