Chief agriculture officer in vigilance net in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 25: Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) has registered a case against chief agriculture officer, Kupwara and other officials for causing a loss of Rs 5.42 lakhs to the state exchequer.
A spokesman said the case has been registered under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and RPC as they purchased vegetable seeds, fodder etc on exorbitant rates thereby causing a loss of Rs 5.42 lakh to the state exchequer.
He said the officer and other officials during the 2005-07 made purchases of fodder and vegetable seeds under Rashtriya Swayam Vikas Yojna (RSVY) and other programmes on exorbitant rates to give undue benefit to supplier firm and themselves causing the loss.
