UPA has adopted 'pro-farmer policies' : Moily
Nalgonda, Jun 24: On Monday, June 23 AICC general secretary and Andhra Pradesh Congress incharge Veerappa Moily claimed that the UPA has adopted 'pro- farmer' policies to improve the living standards of the farmers in the coutry.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a rally organised to highlight the loan waiver scheme, announced by the Centre recently, Mr Moily said Rs 70,000 crore worth farmer loans were waived with the scheme announced by the UPA recently. This initiative would help the farmers to revive the agriculture sector and increase the production in future.
When asked about the resignation of the Opposition Telugu Desam party (TDP) senior leader and polit bureau member from the party and Assembly membership, the Congress leader said ''it is an internal affair of the TDP''.
Nalgonda district Congress leaders, MLAs and MPs participated in the rally in which farmers attended in large numbers.
