Silver, gold open low on weak global advice
Mumbai, Jun 24: On Tuesday, June 24, Gold and silver resumed lower with silver declining by Rs 380 from its last close and opening at Rs 24,105 per kg while standard gold opened at Rs 12,310 per ten gm, declining by Rs 240, on thin demand from jewellery makers and bearish global cues, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said here.
In the international market also, a downward trend was observed with gold declining to USD 885.15/887.60 an ounce from USD 904.25/905.75 late in New York yesterday. Silver also edged down to USD 16.84/16.88 an ounce from USD 17.39/17.45 late in New York, which reflected in the domestic prices, dealers added.
Following were the opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 24,105 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,310 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,370.
