Nashik, Jun 24 (UNI) The Shiv Sena staged a ''rasta roko'' and ''chakka jam'' agitation here today to protest fertiliser scarcity, inflation, and other issues.
Around 250 Shiv Sena activists participated in the agitation.
The activists were led by senior leader Ravindra Mirlekar, Sena district chief Datta Gaikwad, mayor Vinayak Pande, MLA Baban Gholap, and others.
Vehicular traffic on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway No. 3 was disrupted owing to the ''rasta roko'' agitation which lasted for about 30 minutes.
The activists held a mock funeral of the Democratic Front government in the state.
Mr Mirlekar, while addressing the mob alleged although the Centre has allocated the requisite quota of fertilisers to the state, the same was not reaching the farmers, due to black marketing.
All the activists were later rounded up by the police and traffic restored.
