Pune, June 24 (UNI) As part of a week-long Olympic movement celebrations, a seminar on ''Dope Control Measures'' was held at the Army Sports Institute (ASI) here today.
The seminar was organised by the Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA) which is hosting various events, including seminars, competitions and discussions, throughout the week.
MOA Secretary General Balasaheb Landge, speaking on the occasion, lauded ASI Commandant Col Satpal Ahlawat and his officers and men for their cooperation.
Col Ahlawat elucidated on the origin of the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) while Col S K Ghai spoke on dope control and drugs for performance enhancement and informed about the side effects of drug abuse on sportspersons.
The others who addressed the gathering were Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Secretary General Sqd Ldr B R Gulati (retd), Lt Col P M Naik and Hungarian coach Zusga Imray.
