Security critical in internet driven environment: Howard Schmidt
Mumbai, June 24 (UNI) Security will be one of the critical indices for the Indian economy as it emerges as a global knowledge hub, Prof Howard A Schmidt, Former Special Adviser for Cyberspace Security for the White House said today.
Delivering the keynote address at the India Information Security Conference (Infosec) here, Mr Schmidt said, ''Information Security is a concern for governments, corporate houses and the public at large and it is time to share best practices between government agencies, academic institutions, and major corporations, so as to make Information and Communication Technology systems work better for all of us.'' He said,''the systematic statutory processes in India are just right to foster a secure world of work and governance. It is the effective implementation that needs to be the focus now.'' At the conference, organised by 9.9 Mediaworx, more than 15 industry stalwarts from across the country shared their views on information security concerns in India.
The Conference opened with an exclusive CXO Conclave on Information Security, where key trends, issues and solutions were shared, discussed and debated.
