Washington, Jun 24 : Female fans of Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal are going to be shocked when they learn that he has a secret girlfriend.

All along Nadal had been thought to be single, but it has now come to light that he has been having a long-running love match with a girl from his hometown of Majorca.

According to reports, the 22-year-old has been dating Maria Francisca Perello for three years.

The pair was recently photographed frolicking in the surf.

"My nephew always maintained he was single," People quoted Nadal's trainer and uncle Toni Nadal as telling Britain's Mail on Sunday June 22.

"It was a well-kept secret but actually his girlfriend is waiting for him in Majorca," he said.

According to his uncle, there will be a lot of disappointed girls when Wimbledon begins.

"I guess a lot of girls will be upset to know the truth," the uncle added.
